Ruffin Snipes Home Circa 1770. The Ruffin Snipes house is a lovingly improved and maintained house in the Hillsborough Historic District. The owners have put in new central air conditioning and heating, a new upstairs bathroom, new appliances in the kitchen, installed a state of the art, automatic backup generator (necessary in this time of energy uncertainty). They have built a greenhouse (for flowers in the winter), made raised beds in the garden, and put power and plumbing into the separate workshop, made a patio among the trees, and refinished the driveway. They have maintained the house's historic qualities while emphasizing its comfort.
